Instructions:
Take off the Dermor wrap with water running on it. If it’s a regular plastic wrap with tape, peel off without water. Wash by rubbing in circles with soap. Pat dry with a clean towel or paper towel. Wait until it dries out to begin moisturizing. Take quicker showers the first week so the tattoo doesn’t stay wet too long, about 5-7 minutes.
Wash and moisturize 1-2 times a day. Continue to apply moisturizer every day for at least 2 months. That is what will help your tattoo heal the best it can. Daily moisturizing always helps tattoos look great over time.
Minimize exercise or sports for a few days if the area will be sweaty or if clothing will rub. Usually, smaller tattoos aren’t affected. If you do workout wash the tattoo after. No soaking in water, no pools, baths, saunas, or anything that keeps your tattoo wet for longer than 10 minutes for 2 weeks. Do not rewrap your tattoo if it has been unwrapped. No sun exposure for at least 2 weeks. Be aware of the sun while driving. Soaking in water and sun are the two things that could mess up your tattoo's healing process and infect it. Wear clean clothing that isn’t too tight on the tattoo. Cotton, loose, or breathable fabrics are best for the first few days.
Don’t pick scabs or flakiness, let them fall off naturally & when they are ready. Moisturize but do not keep the tattoo moist. I do not recommend Aquafor unless you apply a very thin layer. Always protect tattoos with sunscreen once healed (after 2 weeks). Do not scratch if it itches while healing. If you typically shave the area that got tattooed wait until skin smoothes and there are no peeling skin or scabs. Keep in mind the first few days that the tattoo is unwrapped that it may leak ink onto sheets or clothes while you sleep. Wear dark clothing over it or put a towel on your bed if you don’t want it to transfer. It helps to take ibuprofen first 2 days to help with swelling and soreness if it’s a larger tattoo.
